We are super duper excited and thrilled to have an opportunity to bring you another year of great films!
The 3rd Annual Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival will open on June 2nd with a full day of free programming at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. One of the films included in the opening day lineup is a Canadian Premiere of “Searching For Nepal” by Phil Deutschle and Robyn Hutman. (Watch Trailer) It is a film that follows a former Peace Corps Volunteer as he returns to Nepal, seeking out his adopted family. The film now feels almost like a postcard from Nepal after the recent earthquakes devastation.
The festival will kick into a high festival atmosphere on June 3rd with an Opening Gala Celebration, with a Canadian Premiere of “Brides” by Tinatin Kajrishvili (Watch Trailer), and accompanied by an Ontario Premiere of “Fatherhood” by Alicia Harris, a Scarborough native! Both films present unique points about the choices we make in life, what it means to love, to be a parent, to dream.
The event will take place at the heart of Scarborough – Coliseum Cineplex at the Scarborough Town Centre.
Stay tuned for more announcements and special programming initiatives across Scarborough and East York, in the coming days.
