Sergei Petrov – Executive Director

As the festival’s Director and Founder, Sergei’s love for films and cinema art has grown from childhood passion into a career that taken him many places. He directed, wrote and produced feature length documentaries, short dramatic films, music videos, commercials, and theatrical events. His work won numerous awards at film and television festivals in Canada, USA, Europe and Russia, where he is originally from. He has directed and produced for Ontario Film Review Board, Service Canada, Fashion Television, NFB, Arts and Letters Club of Canada and many others.
Most recently he has been teaching film production at Durham College. From 2009 to 2014 he sat as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at Scarborough Arts, Co-Chairing Fundraiser committee. He wrote reviews on classic films for WildSound.ca, pre-screened films for the TIFF Kids, and programmed international films for DetectiveFEST and ATLANT International Sports Film Festival. He graduated from Centennial College in Toronto from a Film and Television Production program. Sergei has resided in Scarborough since the day his family immigrated to Canada, more than 15 years ago.
In 2014 he was nominated for a Premier of Ontario award for his work in the Media industry.

Yana P – International Programmer
As a formal Programmer and buyer of short films for MiniMovie European channel, Yana brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. She has worked as a Head of Press Office at the Moscow International Film Festival and as a Casting Director for A-Media. Yana holds MA of Film Studies from Moscow University of Cinema Art (VGIK).

Ivan Doudin – Creative Services Director
Ivan is a creative and ambitious self-starter with many years of experience with video production, design, and web development. He has graduated with honours from Seneca College for Digital Media Arts in 2010. He produces, directs, films and edits; music videos, commercials and short films. Ivan has worked with many Canadian and American artists who have flown him out to locations all over the western hemisphere including New York, Florida, Trinidad and the Dominican Republic. A couple of the music video have broadcasted on tv and Toronto’s own Much Music network. His design experience includes producing covers, flyers, branding, and web design for many reputable clients all over the planet.  Ivan has lived in Scarborough for approximately 5 years and still uses many local locations in his work; whether it’s a music video or creative design.
