Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival is an annual 6 day celebration showcasing local, Canadian and world cinema and media projects.
Our mission is to change the world by celebrating humanity through the art of internationals films and multicultural media arts.

Since 2013, the festival has screened over 120 feature and short films, from over 50 countries, welcoming over 13,000 guests to World and local premieres, parties, special events and concerts.

The 5th Annual celebratory festival, which will run June 6nd to 11th, 2017, and is promising to be the best one yet, with a variety of film programs, parties, concerts, industry meetings, guests, and of course more films!

During the 6 days Scarborough Film Festival will present numerous feature and short films of various genres, showcasing the best in local, Canadian and international cinema. Called as “Most exciting film festival to come to Toronto in recent history” by Yahoo News, and “One of Toronto’s most promising new film fests.” by Toronto Star, the films play to an enthusiastic crowed from all walks of life.

Founded as a volunteer driven project to bring international stories to the borough of Scarborough, uniting residents and guests under the lights of the screen, Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival is now being presented by the leading cultural organization in Scarborough, Scarborough Arts. Scarborough Arts is a charitable non-profit – There is no organization in Scarborough or similar organization outside of Toronto’s downtown core that currently provides the services and emphasis that Scarborough Film Festival/Scarborough Arts provides by bridging Scarborough and downtown Toronto, bringing people and cultures together in more accessible ways. Scarborough Film Festival is filling an important gap in alternative programming, education and entertainment, and enhancing cultural scene of East York and Scarborough through the art of film.
